LED spots may be more expensive to purchase than the regular halogen lamp or incandescent lamp, but they will last for years. The price is higher because the production costs of these lights are a lot higher due to their complexity than those of their predecessors. However, this is more than compensated for by the long service life. An LED lamp has an average of 35,000 burning hours, which amounts to around 23 years. That while the traditional light bulb, for example, only lasts 1000 hours. A quick calculation shows that you ultimately spend a lot more money on purchasing new light bulbs than if you ever invest in LED lighting. Count out your winnings!

YOU SAVE ENERGY

LED lighting only needs 3 to 9 percent of electricity to produce the same amount of light as an incandescent lamp and therefore works a lot more efficiently. It can save you an energy saving of 85% compared to the incandescent lamp and you also save 75% compared to the halogen lamp.
Also good to know: because the LED lamp uses the energy more efficiently, it is on balance less warm than other lamps. You will not burn your hands on it and the black scorch marks on the ceiling or on the wall are also a thing of the past. They are therefore much more fire-resistant than traditional lamps. 

LED IS BETTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

In contrast to the energy-saving lamp, LED lighting does not contain mercury. However, with electricity generated from coal, mercury is also released. But because LED ultimately uses less energy, the mercury emission is lower on balance than that of an energy-saving lamp. So when you switch to LED lighting you help the environment a bit.
